About
OK so I guess it’s time to update this page, since the DROUGHT is finally over!
Here we are the defending World Series champs from 2008, and we’re ready to take home another one against the Yankees (we hope). We lost the voice of a generation in Harry the K, our rock solid defensive coordinator genius in Jim Johnson, but still we push on and support our teams as much as ever. I believe this speaks to the nature of the Philadelphia fan, which is embodied in this Phillies team so far this year. We never give up, and we never stop believing. Sure, we get frustrated at times, and even a little pissed off. After all, it’s our right after suffering through decades of mediocrity (or worse). But we never lose hope, and we always tell the players how we feel. That’s right, we boo when we think they suck (also seen as our right for buying a ticket). You don’t find that in many cities, and a lot of players and fans from elsewhere misunderstand our passion. But we’re OK with that, we don’t live to please anyone else. We just want players who will go out and leave it all on the field for their team and for their fans. What more would you expect from a blue collar city? And that is what makes Philadelphia great.
